Our PAT Services

Here at M.J. PAT Testing we carry out testing in line with HSE guidance and the new guidelines in the 4th Edition of the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. 

Businesses can sometimes be unsure as to the frequency of testing, being told that everything has to be tested on an annual basis. The level of inspection and testing required is dependent upon the risk of the appliance becoming faulty, which is dependent upon the type of appliance, the nature of its use and the environment in which it is used. This is commonly referred to as a risk based approached. Therefore we will take time in advising you on what should be tested and its respective frequency, allowing customers to reduce their costs by not paying for unnecessary testing.

When we visit your premises we use the latest in PAT testing equipment with built-in software and carry out PAT testing in line with current regulations.  Once the testing is complete we will issue you with a "Test Report" which acts as your test certificate.  This report will include an asset register with detailed information of all the appliances tested and the suggested retest date. 

Testing After Service.
We don't leave things at the test stage and forget about you. We pride ourselves on offering an after service. To help our customers continue to meet their electrical safety obligations we will contact you between 30 and 60 days before your next round of PAT testing is due, advising you accordingly with a list of the items to be tested and a quoted costing.  

What our service cost

We consider our prices to be very competitive and our price structure is very simple:

Our minimum charge is just  £40.00  which covers up to the first 25 items.

Each item thereafter is then £0.90p per item up.

If you have over 200 items, please call or email us for a more competitive quote.

Additional Charges

Retesting -  Retesting is carried out for free after onsite replacement.

There are  no hidden costs , such as for call outs, mileage charges or for working weekends and evenings. We do  not  charge VAT.
